Submission Guidelines

If you are interested in participating in any of the upcoming issues the basic information you need to get started is below.

  • The publication is magazine size. The printed dimensions are 8" x 10.5". Keep all of your text within a 1/4 of an inch from the edge.

If you want your pictures to bleed off the page, please have a 1/4 of an inch of image all the way around the page.

  • All stories should be page lengths that are divisible by 4 (4, 8, 12, etc). This way if a person or team can't complete their story for any reason we can remove it from the line up with out messing up the page count.

To maximize the amount of different stories we should keep the max length to 8 pages, but if you have a story that needs to be longer we can discuss it on a story-by-story basis.

  • The character Dr. Dremo is the host of the magazine Crypt Keeper style. There is a page with him at the front of each magazine announcing the genre and he plays host to each story.

Dr. Dremo has to appear at the beginning and end of your story. How you draw him and how he introduces your story is up to you, he can even narrate your story if you like. Also he doesn't have to be campy or hokey he can be as refined as the host of Masterpiece Theatre if that is what fits your story. But he must introduce your story.

You can download Dr. Dremo reference art here.

  • We want to see pitches with art.

This is not to say that content will be edited just that the editor will be maintaining a level of quality control over the project. We want to make sure that all creators are putting their best effort into the magazine. This will not be a style judgment. Everyone has different styles and that will be respected.

  • There is a per page buy-in for covering the printing costs. Each page that a single creator or team wants to include in the magazine will cost $15. Everyone should get at least 10 copies (more depending on the amount of creators involved). Any additional issues will be available at cost.

You can start sending pitches right away.

Final art for the Fall issue will be due in July so that we can have it finished and printed for September.

Final art for the Spring issue is due in February so that we can have it finished and printed for April.

If you want to submit please e-mail Evan Keeling at evan@dcconspiracy.com. Please include "Anthology Submission" and which anthology you are submitting for in the subject line.
